this project was to crate a media portfolio/blog.
the initial blog i set up didn't work properly. so when got home i started working on a second one which i am happier with. it was accessible now and i could add posted photos ( but not on the macs')
i have been taking photos and using them as primary evidence linked to the topic. i am trying to write in more detail this helps me remember the work.
i found quite a lot of information using primary research. we created a questionnaire about the different types of social media people use and why we asked a mixture of questions both open and closed. the results we got were qualialive for the open questions e.g. what do like about Facebook? and quantitive for the closed questions e.g. are you male?
for the secondary research we struggled to find a reliable source of information. we would of liked to have more time to research these topics (EDP, mustard TV and BBC radio norfolk)
i don't get a lot of time at home to look at other work between college and home but i am interested in others work. recently looked into theCGI thy used in the hobbit. i try to keep up with a few peoples videos when i get the time e.g. devinsupertramp (youtube), big head media (vimo and there website) and some of my close friends channels.
my skills have developed by be able to use a different editing software then the one i use at home. also being able to transfer the skills i use at college to my own videos at home. i am already familiar with a lot of the camera equipment so that aspect was not new to me.
i would like to look camera angles and cinematic in more depth. i would also like some training on how to use photoshop.
we could physically upload videos to my blog but the tutor uploaded all the videos to veto and sent us the links so we could embed it into our blogs. i have used images in my blog from my camera (primary evidence). the photos were hard to upload depending on which computer was being used the PC was easier
my target audience was people of my age group. it is appealing for this age group because it is easy access more visually appealing and has a variety of media
i am not happy with my my final piece (blog) i feel i can do better. i have information and photos missing. the background photo cannot be changed and the font is too small because of the background, it disappears.
the three key elements that were particularly successful are the photographs i shot myself during lessons and challenges we have been given on the course these are unique and appealing to students in the class as they are featured in them.
i embedded links to videos that we made, showing the project we were working on in class. agein this will appeal to people in the class and anyone else that is interested in the course. the clips showed comical sketch with a sense of humor the relates to this age group.
my background photograph is unique because it is more relevant to my personal life and other interests. however, it will appeal to my target audience as it is attention grabbing and has a dark, twisted sense of humor
